So, aside from the tediousness of what's happening with Amazon and not getting the ebooks to roll into calibre properly - which, as I have read, seems to be their insidiousness (not a bug, though you are very gracious in so attributing), what is going on with the metadata? I presumed, wrongly it appears, that once one edits the metadata in Calibre, then those changes became the new metadata. ebok location (rather than the author folder). But, when iTunes does ITS magic, the book ends up with 1. To wit: I change the author (i.e., last name first) and title (actual title rather than xxx.ebok) (among other things) in Calibre, then save to the appropriate folder for iTunes. I am puzzled that metadata edited in Calibre has no effect when transferred and read by iTunes. My workaround is to go into the iTunes library folder and make the changes manually. Moving the epub to iTunes results in the. At that point, I normally can get a cover and metadata. I can use Alf's work to convert the books to ePub. Again, no joy: the Kindle books still come over to Calibre as xxx.ebok.ģ. I attempted the "roll back" to Kindle 1.17.
